Keep Imagination in Focus

It is nearly impossible to create art if your imagination if out of focus. Unless you are a REALLY good artist who can do portraits that look like real people and paint scenes that look like real scenes. For my art, I need imagination. I need to step outside the comfort of reality and get some good grunge on.. You know?



Here is a perfect example. The picture outside my front window does not look like this. We have no huge flowers, no forest and no mountains. We are at sea level, in a residential area; cars, driveways, streets and even trash cans.



I prefer not to focus on the trash cans, but instead on the colors of those gorgeous crete myrtles in my neighbor's yard. Those are the colors of December in the Low Country. We finally have fall. While all of our friends and relatives up north are looking at snow, we are enjoying the fruits of autumn. That was my inspiration for this project. And this was my video:
